Finals Day

Today I gave my final to 113 of my students.  I thought it was quite easy, and so did most of them.  They were done in about an hour, and they had 2 hours to complete it.  Some of the students, however, thought it was difficult, so hopefully I had the right mix of questions!  Now comes the fun part - grading all of them!

I brought my camera in today and set it up so that I could have a picture together with all of my students.  A couple came in late but here's the majority!  I'm in the orange sweatshirt on the right.  I must be getting old - these 23+ year old students looks so YOUNG!

Hangzhou 003

All of these people, along with millions of others, will be traveling over the next few weeks in trains, planes and automobiles back to their family to celebrate the Chinese New Year.  Many of them have long journeys, spending 30 hours or more on the train.  Train tickets are rare now as they are being snapped up by a country on the move!

Hi! I just happened upon your site somehow. We are a family in Maine, with a 4 year-old daughter who was born in China. We are just beginning to think about a sabbatical in China in the next few years. I look forward to reading about your experiences there, and if you don't mind sharing, I would love to ask you some questions via email. COntact me if you wouldn't mind sharing your experiences.

Thanks,

Vicky
